Sara Marlowe Hall is an abstract painter from London. Matthew Zuk is a composer and musician from Los Angeles. The two have been in love and living together in Los Angeles for over 9 years. The conversation of creativity has been the bed of a deep understanding between the couple during their relationship, from the beginning they have looked towards each other for inspiration and have developed a love language back and forth of sound and image. It was only natural that the two found it was time to create a body of work that is representative of this creative ongoing conversation. So they began making Lovers Talk, as they painted and recorded in Sara’s studio in Lincoln Heights. It started while Zuk was on outs and Sara spent two months creating nine paintings for Zuk to then respond to upon his return. He would hang a painting in the studio and compose naturally what came in that moment. We shot 9 rolls, for their 9 year relationship, 9 paintings and 9 songs. From their home to their studio, we captured them as lovers, friends and co-creators. Their show us up at Gallery Sade in Los Angeles.
