We met Sara Marlowe Hall in 2019 when Anaïs had her solo show The Blue of Summer at her gallery called Merchant and have been friends ever since. Her mother Denise Portmans and her run the beautifully curated art and furniture Merchant Store West (Santa Monica) and Merchant Store East (Atwater) in Los Angeles. When Denise bought a house in Morongo Valley in the desert, it only made sense to photograph it for Domino Magazine. We spent a couple of days at the Merchant House with stylist Merisa Libbey, hiking, enjoying their home made cooking and their beautiful home that is the perfect continuation to their store.
