Anaïs went to Paris to visit her mom Souné to celebrate her 80th birthday. Anaïs was raised in Souné’s artist duplex that dates back to the 1930’s. It is the perfect reflection of her beautiful, unique and eclectic taste. The couch has had many people sit in it, especially during parties when mom was not around! The leather arm chair has Anaïs’ teen body imprint from after school TV watching of American shows. The stunning large painting is by Nicholas de Staël and is something we always look forward to looking at when visiting. The rug, chair and red fabrics are from Morocco where Souné lived and worked for ten years. The large focus plant has been there for more than 20 years bringing life and joy in this already perfectly colorful space. There are countless objects and pieces of art everywhere, from years of travel and Souné love for beauty. This special place has attracted a constellation of friends from ages 40 to 95 who all love Souné very much. She sure knows how to enjoy herself!

The trip was filled with good food from Clamato Restaurant and Le Servan. Lots of walking, taking the bus to… Thaddaeus Ropac to see the large and colorful paintings by Megan Rooney, OFR book store to browse the latest in photography, Yvon Lambert to buy more art books, to Sennelier - one of the oldest art supply stores in Paris and where Anaïs grandfather used to shop, to the iconic art deco Piscine Molitor for a spa day before Souné’s birthday and finally to L’Encrerie for a surprise matching mother/daughter tattoo session with Yves Le Risk.
